Roger Federer‘s second round match after his first against to Alexander Dolgopolov on July 4th Tuesday. His first round opponent has retired from the game due to injury when the score is at 6-3, 3-0, RET. Federer lost his two finals in the Wimbledon before in 2014 and 2015. Though, he had seven Wimbledon titles since 1999. Also, he lost his second round in his 2013 after 2002. He is the world no. 1 during the period between 2003 to 2007. He didn’t appear on his last two French Open tennis in 2016 and this 2017.
From the actions of Federer’s last match to Dolgopolov explains that he is ready to win his ninth Wimbledon title. His way of play looks as wow and played those 45 minutes as majestic and it shows that how he is prepared to face all young and senior opponents on upcoming matches.
Federer said that “His (Dolgopolov’s) explanation to me is that he felt too much pain on the serve, maybe on the jump. At that point obviously when you’re down a set and a break, it’s getting worse, he’s in pain. I see the point. If you feel like it’s getting worse and you can hurt yourself even further, it is better to stop.
“The question always is, should they have started the match at all. That only the player can answer really, in my opinion. You hope that they would give up their spot for somebody else, even though they deserve to be in there, but fitness not allowing them.”
Recently, he took rest for his entire days of the clay-court season to play well in the Wimbledon and US Open. However, he didn’t appear on last US open after his Semifinal loss in 2016 Wimbledon.
Federer vs Lajovic is the third match on Centre Court on Thursday. The first match begins at 1 pm BST.
