PM Narendra Modi inaugurate Kochi Metro Rail: On June 17th Saturday, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Kochi Metro rail. It is the first Metro rail of Kerala and the rail will start its formal function with the ride of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per te sources, PM Narendra Modi will start his ride following he will proceed towards the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium for the inauguration of Kochi Metro around 11 am.
Kochi Metro is the country’s eighth commercial operation rail. Later, it is expecting that PM Modi will arrange the meeting with the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Kochi Metro Rail inauguration event will happen with the important members including Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam, Chief Minister P Vijayan, Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala, Ernakulam MP K V Thomas and also, the Metro Man of India & mentor of Kochi Metro project E Sreedharan.
PM Modi will also undertake a ride as mentioned above from the stations of Palarivattom to Pathadippalam along with other dignitaries. Kochi Metro is the longest first phase of a metro to be inaugurated, it covers with 11 stations covering nearly 13 km – from Palarivattom to Aluva in the city.
Kochi Metro has designed and it will be the first in India to use Communication Based Train Control technology. And the fare varies from a minimum of Rs. 10 to a maximum of Rs. 40 based on the distance from one station to another.
The project cost an estimated Rs. 5,180 crore and the project construction was tasked to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in 2013.
